Below outlines the official structure for both 5v5 (Courts) and 7v7 (Quarter Pitch) competitions.

🟢 5v5 COMPETITION RULES (COURTS)

5v5 Game Structure Overview

• 5 players on field (4 + GK)
• Rolling substitutions
• Smaller goals
• No offside
• All free kicks indirect (except penalties if applicable)
• Shorter match durations (festival-style rotation)

Designed for:

  • Maximum touches

  • Fast decision making

  • High repetition learning

  • Development-focused football

🔵 7v7 COMPETITION RULES (QUARTER PITCH)

All 7v7 matches will operate under the official small-sided game laws as outlined by Football NSW.


7v7 Structure (Weekend Football Equivalent)

• 7 players on field (6 + GK)
• Rolling substitutions
• Quarter-pitch dimensions
• Build-out / retreat line in applicable age groups
• Throw-ins (not kick-ins)
• Goal kicks taken from goal area
• Offside applied in accordance with Football NSW small-sided laws
• Direct & indirect free kicks as per official laws
• No slide tackles (where applicable to age group)

Match duration and finals format subject to draw structure.

This ensures consistency with:

  • Weekend grassroots football

  • Player development pathways

  • Football NSW regulations

  • Safe, structured competition standards

GENERAL TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

• Official referees appointed
• Tournament ladder + finals (subject to registrations)
• Points system:
– Win: 3
– Draw: 1
– Loss: 0
• Goal difference used where required
• Disciplinary action aligned with Football NSW guidelines
• Tournament committee reserves right to adjust format based on team numbers
